I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.
The leaves are changing, the temperature is cooler, and that can only mean one thing…it’s OCTOBER!! Grab a pumpkin spiced latte, a fistful of candy, and settle in for this edition of Friday Favorites.
October means Halloween. Halloween means trick or treating. Trick or treating means candy! I have an incurable sweet tooth. I can’t help myself. If there is chocolate around, it’s going to end up in my mouth. This time of year is dangerous, especially for the scale, because it’s so easy to justify having a bowl of delicious candy around.
I loved dressing up as a kid. Halloween is that one time of year you can be someone else, just for a day. More often that not, I chose to be a witch. I was more than excited when my son told me he wanted to be Harry Potter this year. We usually do family costumes, with the two little ones, which means I get to turn into my favorite alter ego – a witch!
Ah, the movies this time of year! Who doesn’t love a good scare? My grandma was notorious for showing all her grandkids scary movies and thoroughly creeping us out with spooky stories. I loved it. The scarier the better. Of course, Hocus Pocus will always be one of my favorites. I’m sure all you 90’s kids will agree!
One thing I absolutely love about fall is all of the decorations. From August to December, the decor is being switched out, and setting the mood for each occasion. It let’s you enjoy the holidays all month instead of just one day. I’m obsessing over Pier One’s Halloween collection right now.
